Tamarind House is approached via a private 1 km road from the main Sakdidej Rd.
It sits on the tip of a headland with 180 degree views over Phang Nga Bay out to the fabled Phi Phi Islands on the horizon.
The Villa is built of the Balinese separate pavilions style with four pavilions forming the accommodation .
All rooms are centrally airconditioned and all have fans.
The upper region of the property which includes Master Bedroom, en suite bathroom, separate toilet, dining-room, kitchen, lounge and study are all accessible by wheelchair from the carpark thru to the patio area.
The Master Bedroom has a King Size Bed with glass windows and doors facing to the garden and sea. The attached bathroom has an enclosed Balinese garden giving a feeling of tranquility. A separate large toilet is attached plus a walk in dressing room.
Thru sliding doors there is a TV/Reading Room with day bed which can be utilised as a childrens' room with bedding for a child up to the age of approx. 8 years and two baby costs are also available. This makes a complete suite for the young family. There are additionally a baby highchair, pushchair and plenty of toys including floater for the pool.
To pass to the dining-room you go via a covered walkway surrounded by plants. The dining-room will seat up to 10 people. Again glass doors floor to ceiling give the feeling of dining "al fresco" . The attached kitchen is fully supplied with built in oven, microwave and five ring gas burner. There are plentiful pots and pans, dishes, etc. with crockery, cutlery and glassware for up to 10 people.
Through another walkway from the dining-room you pass two fish ponds with ornamental fountains and fish. Again plants and creepers give a cool "back-to-nature" feeling.
The lounge is furnished with very large chairs and settee and houses Satellite TV and DVD player. Again glas doors open on three sides onto the patio area and the pool frontage giving beautiful sea views.
Attached thru stable doors is a study area with desk, telephone and Wi Fi router.
There is a large bookcase with big supply of a variety of books and DVDs for guest usage.
The pool area is complimented with sun loungers and an umbrella for that bit of shade when enough sun has been absorbed. The pool has an infinity edge all but over the sea
itself and there is a ledge on which to sit with a cold beer or glass of wine to enjoy the wonderful view of the twin islands of Ao Taphao and Ao Taphao Noi which face the property. It also gives a good view of Phi Phi on the horizon and the charm of fishing boats going out to sea in the late afternoon and returning early morning.
On the corner of the patio area is a seating section with Balinese benches and tables with seating for up to 12 persons. An ideal spot for morning tea and sundowners, also for entertaining.
Down to the lower level via 2 short flights of wide steps is THE DOBERMANN bar and entertainment room. This bar is so named as the owners have bred dobermann dogs for 46 years and much memorabilia is to be found on the walls and shelves.
There is a pool table and darts board. Leading from the bar is a wooden deck overlooking the garden and the sea with seating for sun worhsipers and smokers. The bar has an airconditioner and a toilet.
There is also Satellite TV, DVD and sound system, plus many CDs.
Leading downwards from the bar through the garden down two flights of steps you come to a small sandy cove which is excellent for that sundowner or for a spot of "of rock" fishing.
Four small steps upwards from the landing in front of the bar are the two twin bedded guest rooms with en suite bathrooms again having enclosed Balinese garden which are a delight when showering with the doors open as they give such a feeling of freedom!
To sum up - Tamarind House is ideal for VIPs who wish to retain their anonimity being as it is down a 1 km. private no thru road with security gates and 24 hour guard. There is no passing traffic and the villa is barely visible from the sea as the wide overhangs of the roof built for coolness, blend with the earth tones and trees. It is also ideal for young families as there are no near neighbours to be disturbed by young ones letting off steam.

From the Villa to Phuket city is a ten minute drive and there you will find supermarkets, local wet markets, shops, restaurants and nightclubs. The nearest beach is just five minutes away by car where there are numerous beach bars and restaurants to be found. Top class restaurants such as Baba's Beach Club, Cloud 19, and the Radisson Hotel are within just five minutes. A car is needed at Tamarind House. The West Coast beaches and tourist ttractions are a 25-45 minute drive away. The airport is 45 minutes. |
